Kaya Skincare was a private label cosmetics company founded by Makaya Tome in 2018, focused on holistic, clean formulations that prioritized simplicity, efficacy, and skin health. The brand specialized in lightweight, non-comedogenic skincare designed for all skin types, developed in collaboration with a cosmetic lab and distributed to estheticians, wellness clinics, and boutique retailers.

Kaya emerged from Makaya’s personal experience with severe acne as a teenager and her frustration with the complexity and harshness of mainstream products. This pursuit led to the development of a line of thoughtful, transparent formulations grounded in integrative health principles and clean science.

Over its six-year run, Kaya Skincare delivered over 1,000 product orders and supported a loyal client base through custom private label offerings. Makaya oversaw the full product lifecycle, from formulation and regulatory coordination to brand design, fulfillment, and client onboarding, while retaining full ownership of all proprietary IP and skincare formulas.
